The Basics to Keeping Teeth Clean and Healthy

Healthy teeth and gumsWe all want to have a healthy clean white smile and it is something we can all have if we just keep to a few very basic daily activities when it comes keeping our teeth and gums healthy and clean.

Food and drink

Try to keep foods high in sugar and acids to a minimum. If you do have a sugary meal or a fizzy drink high in acids, then immediately afterwards rinse your mouth with warm water. This will dilute the acids and sugars and help prevent unnecessary damage to the enamel.


You should brush at least 2 times a day, morning and night. Use a medium to soft bristle brush or electric brush. Brush all the teeth on all sides gently including the tongue. Change you brush every 3 months.


Floss at least twice a day, preferably  after every meal.


It is a good idea to use a mouthwash at least twice a day, preferably morning and before bedtime.


You should see you dentist every 6 months for a check-up to make sure your teeth and mouth are clean and healthy. If something is wrong, then it can be treated before the problem becomes worse.

Teeth Whitening 

Teeth whitening is not necessary, but it does make you teeth look beautiful. This helps build confidence and makes us more attractive. Not all teeth whitening products are safe, so it is important to use a safe and approved teeth whiten kit with a proven track record.
