Teeth Whitening Pens

Teeth Whitening Pens – Easy and Safe

Teeth Whitening Pens Apart from in-surgery professional teeth whitening which can be quite expensive, there are several DIY methods for home teeth whitening.

Most people who opt for whitening their teeth at home usually choose a complete, home teeth-whitening kit which can provide professional-like results.

However, there are several other whitening methods on the market that can offer satisfactory whitening results in a simpler and more convenient way.

From whitening chewing gums and toothpastes to whitening strips and pens, everybody can find the method that suits their individual needs.

The less discoloured or stained the teeth are, the easier the choice can be.

What Are Whitening Pens?

Just like whitening strips, teeth whitening pens can be another easy, inexpensive, on-the-go method for beautiful, white teeth.

Teeth Whitening pens are small devices in the shape of a pen which are filled with a whitening peroxide solution that is applied on the teeth with the help of a small brush that is attached at the end of the device.

Whitening pens are ideal to maintain the whitening results of home or in-surgery whitening and for a fast touch-up before an important appointment. They can also be used in conjunction with other whitening methods for optimum results.

A whitening pen contains a mild liquid solution of carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide that can be brushed directly on the front surface of the teeth without the use of mouth trays.

The whitening solution usually remains on the teeth for about 20 to 30 minutes and users are advised to avoid eating or drinking for about half an hour after each treatment.

What You Should Know about Whitening Pens

About 30 minutes before using a whitening pen, you should brush your teeth to remove any food particles. After applying the gel on the surface of your teeth, keep your mouth open for about 30 seconds to let the gel dry and form a coat on your teeth.

Avoid contact with your lips while the gel dries and remove any gel that comes in contact with your gums with a wet tissue.

Brush the whitening gel in front of a mirror to help you avoid contact of the gel with your gums. Also, be more persistent with teeth that are more stained or discoloured than the others and avoid crowns as the gel cannot have any effect on them.

If you have never whitened your teeth before, you may need to use a whitening pen for several days until you reach your desired shade. Unlike initial whitening with the use of a whitening pen, touch-ups will take you just one or two applications even in the same day.

Advantages of Whitening Pens

Disadvantages of Whitening Pens

The use of a whitening pen can be a great solution for those who want to always enjoy a bright white smile. Whitening pens are easy to use, treatment time is short and results can be quite satisfactory.
